#Publish a book

Publishing moves a finished book from the writing catalog into Kifuliiru Publications, where anyone can read it. The book keeps its cover, interior design, page order, author, and saved page content.

1. Finish the title and manuscript

   Give the cover a title and write at least one content page. Review every page in the editor before publishing; the reader presents the saved pages as they are designed.

2. Open Kifuliiru Publications

   In the left sidebar, open the publication section and choose Publish for reading. This control appears for a signed-in book connected to your catalog account.

3. Open the public reader

   After publishing, Read publication opens the public book in a new tab. The book also appears in the Publications catalog.

#What a book needs

Studio enables publishing when the cover has a title and the manuscript contains written content. In the normal book structure that means a cover and at least one content page. Empty decorative pages do not count as writing.

#After publishing

A published book has a stable reader address based on its publication slug. Catalog cards and Read publication open that address in a new tab, so the editor remains available. The page number is stored in the URL fragment: #1 is the first displayed page, #2 the second, and so on. A copied page URL opens on that page.

#Read a publication

The publication reader shows one designed page at a time and scales the whole page to fit the available space. The title and author stay above the page. Previous and Next sit below it with a compact current-page / total-pages count between them.

#Reader controls

• Buttons — use Previous or Next. The number between them shows your position in the book.
• Keyboard — Right arrow, Page Down, or Space moves forward; Left arrow or Page Up moves back. Home opens the first page and End opens the last.
• Touch — swipe across the page to turn it. A short tap near the left or right edge also moves backward or forward.
• Full screen — use the expand icon or press F. Press F again or use the collapse icon to leave full screen.

#PDF

Choose PDF in the reader to prepare the complete book, not only the page currently visible. In the hosted browser, use the system print dialog and choose Save as PDF. Printed output removes editor-only outlines, overflow marks, and page warnings.

#Return to the studio

A published book remains manageable from its editor. Choose Return to studio to remove it from the public Publications catalog and return its status to writing. This does not delete the local draft or a .ked.json file you exported. You can revise the book and publish it again.
