Properties sidebar
Cover, Frame, Page, and Type — the quick design path next to the canvas.
What it is for
The right sidebar is the quick design path while you stay on the canvas. Design at the top opens the full Look / Cover / Interior dialog. Use the sidebar when you want the next change without leaving the page.
On a phone, Design is Look / Cover / Interior first. Cover / Frame / Page / Type sit under those three paths, and still open when you select a cover field.
Cover
Hint: select a field on the cover — its editor appears here. Until you do, the tab says to click a field.
Once a text role is selected you get:
- Text — the same string as on the canvas.
- Type styles — font family, size, and color for that role (title, subtitle, author, badge, language line, footer, free badge).
If you click cover chrome instead of a field, you may see accent color and the Free badge visibility switch. Readability mode and strength appear when that treatment is selected.
Changing these values clears the “this still matches the last Look” link — you have left the template defaults on purpose.
Frame
Border around the page, not the Background or Artwork library.
- Border style — including off / none.
- From page edge — inset in millimetres (about 6–48 mm).
- Line weight — 1–6 px.
- Line gap — on double-line styles, 2–24 mm.
- Text padding — space between the frame and cover type.
- Rounded corners when the style supports them.
A short hint on the tab points you to Design → Cover for background and artwork.
Page
Interior geometry you often change without opening the full Design dialog:
- Page size — A4, Letter, 6×9, 5×8.
- How rows layout — auto, cards, or table (format override). Auto follows the package: smaller number books prefer cards.
Orientation, margins, running headers, page numbers, column visibility, and Intro / About / Contact toggles live in Design → Interior.
Type
Body font family and body size for pages after the cover. Cover field type is on the Cover tab, per field. Heading scale for generated cards still comes from the Look unless you override it in Design.
